Water Reclamation
There are two categories of water which can be reclaimed
for domestic or building use, namely ‘rainwater’
and ‘grey water’.
Rainwater is usually captured in roof guttering and directed
via down pipes and filters to a collection tank at low level.
The rainwater is treated and recycled to flush WC’s,
car washing, plant watering and in some cases clothes washing
machines.
Grey water is usually captured wastewater from washbasins,
baths and showers, etc, which is routed to storage tanks (normally
low level) for re-use. Once treated the reclaimed water is
used to flush WC’s etc and can be used in industrial
processes.
